Reenactment of Louisa’s Vote

Each September, we commemorate Louisa Swain and her historic vote with a special reenactment at the Wyoming Women’s History House.

Following our reenactments, spectators often tour the Wyoming Women’s History House to learn more about how Wyoming led the way in women’s suffrage.

Louisa Swain Day 2026

We will celebrate Louisa Swain Day on Saturday, September 5 from 11 am - 1 pm.

Weather permitting, we will hold the ceremony in our courtyard under our new mural that depicts Louisa alongside Nellie Tayloe Ross. If the weather won’t allow an outside ceremony, we will celebrate inside the Wyoming Women’s History House.

The event is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited. If you plan to attend, please let us know. You may sign up here or by calling or texting 307-760-0929.

We look forward to seeing you Sept. 5!
