Be Like Louisa: Cast Your Ballot of Support
On September 6, 1870, Louisa Swain cast the first ballot on equal political terms to a man.
Won’t you help us mark the anniversary of Louisa’s vote with your vote of support?
Cast your ballot by donating to one of 4 causes:
A. Outdoor furniture that can withstand the weather for our recently renovated courtyard: We need at total of $3,000 to meet our goal
B. We currently feature 13 historic women. We would like to honor 12 more women by expanding our exhibits to show the impact and breadth of Wyoming’s historic passage of the Women’s Suffrage Act on December 10, 1869: We need $6,500 to meet that goal
C. Thanks to Rocky Mountain Power’s Foundation, we’ve raised $2,500 toward the construction of a Trailblazer’s Trail timeline of historic Wyoming women for our courtyard: We need $5,000 more to meet our goal
D. Thanks to generous grants from the Guthrie Family Foundation and First Interstate Bank, we have raised $17,500 toward new flooring and paint of our 20-year-old space: We need another $17,500 to match those funds.
Every dollar counts! Let us know which project you choose with your vote of support.
The Louisa Swain Foundation and its Wyoming Women’s History House are a nonprofit 501c3 organization. Donations are tax deductible under IRS guidelines.
