Our Equality Hall reminds me of those who led with true grit and courage

In Appreciation...

Thanks to the efforts and example of Louisa Swain, Eliza Stewart, Martha Symons Boies, Esther Hobart Morris, Betty Kail, Marilyn Kite and other “first” women of Wyoming, I never had to invest significant time or energy weighing the possibility or worth of my vote, or service to the citizens of this Great State.  Any glass ceilings I have cracked, though meaningful, pale in comparison to the consequence Louisa’s and others’ actions had, and will continue to have, toward realizing freedom, justice, and democracy in our State, our Nation, and our world.

 I am so very fortunate to now serve on the Wyoming Supreme Court, where, each day, our Equality Hall reminds me of those who led with true grit and courage. I appreciate and hope to follow their example.
